Early Steps Hosmer

Dear Early Steps Families,

As we wrap up another wonderful school year, I want to thank you for your partnership and support. It has been a joy to watch our students learn, grow, and build friendships throughout the year.

As I reflect on the past year, I am incredibly proud of the connections our students have built and the effort, perseverance, and growth they have demonstrated. Every day, our students have shown curiosity, kindness, and a willingness to learn, and it has been a privilege to celebrate their accomplishments with you.

I feel fortunate to be part of the Watertown community and the important work we do together at Early Steps. Working alongside our dedicated staff and supportive families to create meaningful learning experiences for our youngest learners is truly rewarding.

To our PreKindergarten students, congratulations on reaching this exciting milestone! We are so proud of all that you have accomplished during your time at Early Steps. As you move on to kindergarten, we wish you continued success, confidence, and joy in learning. We know you are ready for this next adventure, and we cannot wait to hear about all the wonderful things you will do.

To our Preschool students, we are excited to welcome you back next year and hope that you are just as excited! We look forward to seeing all the ways you continue to learn, grow, and thrive as you take on new experiences and challenges.

I hope your family enjoys a safe, relaxing, and joyful summer filled with opportunities to play, explore, and make lasting memories.

Wishing you a wonderful summer vacation!

Warmly,
Christine Gibelli
Principal

Medication Pick-up Reminder

Guidelines for the pick-up of student medications at the end of the school year are as follows:

  1. Student medications must be picked up from the nurse’s office by a parent, guardian, or parent/guardian-designated responsible adult by Wednesday, June 24, at dismissal.
  2. Watertown Public Schools reserves the right to dispose of any medications that are not retrieved by the last day of school.
  3. Watertown Public Schools cannot guarantee that medications not retrieved by the last day of school will be accessible for pick-up during the summer.
  4. If a student requires medication during summer vacation, the medication should be picked up on the last day of school, even if the student is participating in a Watertown Public Schools summer program.
  5. Medications that are not picked up may not be accessible during the summer months.
  6. Any medication required during a Watertown Public Schools summer program must be delivered directly to the summer program nurse in accordance with the program’s guidelines.
IMPORTANT:
  • Controlled substance medications must always be picked up directly by a parent, guardian, or parent/guardian-designated responsible adult at the end of each school year.
  • Controlled substances will never be released directly to a student.
  • Controlled-substance medications not retrieved at dismissal on the last day of school will be safely disposed of. No exceptions will be made.

Last Day of School - Early Release

The last day of school is Wednesday, June 24, and is an early release day for all students.

  • Early Steps Preschool and PreKindergarten students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m.
  • PreKindergarten students at Hosmer, Cunniff, and Lowell Schools will follow the K–12 early dismissal at noon.
Hosmer Families:
On the last day of school, dismissal will take place from the playground side of the building and the main entrance. The courtyard doors will be reserved for the Fifth Grade Clap-Out Ceremony.

We anticipate increased traffic and parking challenges on Wednesday due to end-of-year events. Please plan to arrive early to allow extra time for parking and dismissal.
